You Can Make A Difference

You can click on Science and find the Environmental Scientist link. Maybe your path is in Math, Reading, Social Studies, Music & Arts, Building and Fixing Things, Helping People, Computers, Law, Managing Money, Sports, or Nature. Think about it--all the options provided on this website page can be linked to our environmental efforts in some way. The Green Workforce needs many dedicated and educated people with any of the skills and knowledge mentioned. My degree is in Mass Communication. I consider myself part of the Green Workforce. I love it!

Don't staple it. Instead, use a paperclip. Paperclips are an excellent example of a reusable office supply.

State Capitol
Write to your State and Federal Senators and Representatives about what's important to you. These people are elected at the state and national level to represent your best interests. If you don't let them know what you want with a phone call, a letter or email--they won't know how you want them to vote on bills presented to them for proposed laws. If you're not sure who to write to, it's easy to look up at the website under the photo of the Illinois State Capitol.
There are several correct forms of address for a Member of Congress including "The Honorable" and "Representative".
If you want to learn more about Congress and how your elected officials affect your life, check out this website.

If you want to make a difference--unite with other young people--hook with the Sierra Student Coalition, (SSC). Sierra Club is the nation's oldest and largest grassroots environmental organization. Read more about SSC's dedicated young leaders and join them if you're age 14-30. http://www.ssc.org/about/index.php Read about how you become a young leader, too.
