What You Can Do
You Can Make A Difference
So you’re on a limited budget, but want to give your family or that special someone a memorable gift. Memorable is wonderful, because they will remember your ingenuity for years to come. You can make a sustainable gift from your heart. Your family and friends would love artwork made from nontoxic paints or materials. A gift of service in the form of a Coupon Book is always fun for them to present to you for a hug, doing dishes or laundry, maybe vacuuming, or any number of helpful household chores. How about a gift of quality time with your little brother or sister or nieces and nephews simply by reading to them, or playing a fun game? You could even offer babysitting services as a gift. If you have some cash, who wouldn’t love a certificate for a haircut, massage or make over?
Maybe someone would love the gift of music--maybe voice lessons or instrument lessons. The many forms of Martial Arts are a gift of knowledge and grace never to be forgotten.
Yummy baked treats or meals never go to waste. You don't have to spend a lot of money to make someone smile, as they open your gift of love.
Do Grandma and Grandpa spend much time alone? Imagine the sparkle in their eyes as you visit them and maybe help them with some household tasks that are difficult for them.
Use your imagination, and you'll bring so much happiness to your family and friends and maybe even some belly laughs.
Give beautifully wrapped gifts while saving trees and slashing holiday trash. Give a recyclable item or pre-loved item wrapped in recyclable papers and ornamented with leaves, flowers, plants of all kinds, or maybe a sweet piece of candy. Create your own masterpiece gift bag with a paper grocery bag by coloring it or painting it. We had fun making Easter bags this way.
Do you know anyone who would adore a dog or cat as a gift? You can save many animals in the shelters from being killed by giving them a good home.

Shih Tzu Dog

JunieB is a lucky Shih Tzu dog recently adopted as a Rescue Dog by this loving family. JunieB is shown on the right after bathtime with her new friend Charley who welcomes her to his home to play and share his toys. Junie was left behind at a kennel, because she couldn't produce litters. Beware of puppy mills associated with pet stores. Some dogs are born only to produce litters and are overbred.
If you prefer a particular breed for allergy reasons, leave your name with shelters, as you look for online Rescue Groups. Millions of dogs and cats are abandoned and desparately need homes, or they're sadly put to sleep.
